Hedgehogs are great allies for gardeners and are very beneficial to have in your garden for several key reasons The most significant benefit is their role as natural pest controllers. Hedgehogs are nocturnal foragers, and their diet consists of many common garden nuisances, including: • Slugs and Snails: They are particularly helpful in controlling the population of these pests that can severely damage young plants and vegetables. • Caterpillars • Beetles and Weevils • Earwigs and Millipedes By consuming these pests, hedgehogs help maintain plant health and reduce or eliminate the need for chemical pesticides and slug pellets, which is better for the overall ecosystem.
